Lauryn & Joe’s Engagement Portraits – Falls Park, Greenville, South CarolinaNovember 22, 2014

This week Curtis and I headed to downtown Greenville (Falls Park) to meet Lauryn and Joe for their Engagement Portrait Session. They came with their adorable pooch, Roxy, who will be making an appearance on the wedding day!

We had so much fun with Lauryn and Joe and cannot wait for the big day in June 2015! They will tie the knot at the beautiful Thornblade Country Club.

Please enjoy a selection of our favorite images!

An in-home newborn session with baby ZOctober 16, 2014

Earlier this week I met a lovely family at their home for their second child’s newborn session. And could I be dreaming? Baby Z slept almost the entire session and settled so quickly! That made these adorable poses super easy to achieve. Please enjoy this sneak peek from baby Z’s newborn session.

Isabella’s Newborn Portraits – 8 days oldSeptember 22, 2014

This lovely family heard about Kismet Photography from the Centre Stage Annual Gala Benefit and they purchased a gift certificate basket to support the event. Their first born child, Isabella, was born on September 10th, 2014.

Many times families ask me what I like to photograph the most, because they know I do weddings in addition to other types of portraiture. I have found from nearly 5 years of photographing newborns that going from a high energy wedding every weekend to a quiet newborn session during the week is the perfect balance! With a wedding Curtis and I focus on so many individuals, their emotions and how each moment of the day plays out. And with babies there is only one tiny person to pay attention to. Staring at a brand new human being for 2-3 hours completely clears my mind of extraneous thoughts and is essentially a meditative session. Thank you to all of the families that have chosen Kismet this year for their newborn’s portraits because I have adored each and every session!

Please enjoy a sampling of Isabella’s images:

Jessica & Andrew – Part 2June 18, 2014

Thank you for your patience waiting for the second blog post. Between Curtis and I we photographed over 3000 images at this wedding so it takes a while to go through and select our top favorites when there are so many wonderful moments to choose from.

And now for the remainder of the wedding day including the handsome groom, Andrew!

Let the party begin!

Congratulations again, Jessica and Andrew, on a beautiful wedding!

Jessica & Andrew – St. George Greek Orthodox Church / HyattJune 15, 2014

Yesterday we had the honor of being part of Jessica and Andrew’s wedding at St. George Greek Orthodox Church downtown followed by a reception at the newly renovated Hyatt. Normally the sneak peek after the wedding includes our favorite images from the entire day, but this post is going to be different. The images below just focus on the bride’s pre-ceremony moments.

This wedding included Married Team coverage by both myself, and Curtis. That’s what most of our couples choose to include so they receive multiple creative angles throughout the day and both the bride and groom essentially have a personal photographer.

The whole time I was photographing Jessica I kept thinking “gotta blog this!” So this sneak peek will be part 1 of 2. The second post will include the handsome groom, Andrew, the amazing ceremony, followed by hilarious reception shots. So here we go – ENJOY!

The angel pin belonged to Jessica’s Grandmother. What a great way to honor family members in your wedding details.

Jessica hadn’t looked at herself the whole time she was getting ready so I asked her to hold off and when she was finally dressed to turn around and see herself for the first time. It was an emotional moment for sure!

Then a “First Look” with Jessica’s dad.

You were a gorgeous bride, Jessica! Thank you for being so amazing to photograph throughout this whole process, from the Engagement Session to the wedding day. Congratulations again!

Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon!

Rachel & Phillip get married at Pretty Place ChapelMay 19, 2014

If you’ve never visited Pretty Place Chapel we highly encourage you to visit, even if it’s not coinciding with a wedding because the view is always spectacular! We’ve photographed weddings there in the morning, mid day, sunset, and in the autumn when the fall foliage is at it’s most brilliant. And at all of those different times, it’s guaranteed to be breathtaking.

Rachel and Phillip’s wedding started in Simpsonville, SC at a friend’s home where the bride had her hair and makeup done.

Then we headed up to Pretty Place for the groom’s portraits and pre-ceremony preparations.

This image shows the bride’s father’s reaction when he saw her for the first time before the wedding, from head to toe Rachel looked stunning!

A warm clutch to calm any pre-wedding jitters.

Let the ceremony begin!

For the bride and groom’s pronouncement kiss he lifted her up off her feet and sealed the deal! Everyone really enjoyed seeing a unique kiss and clapped.

After a quick stop off at Bald Rock on the way back down the mountain we headed to Brick Street Cafe for the reception.

We had an amazing day with you, Rachel and Phillip! By now you are on the honeymoon enjoying a much needed and deserved rest. Enjoy yourselves and we can’t wait to show you the rest of your images when you return. Congratulations again!

Sadie Turns 4 – Furman University Child PortraitsMay 9, 2014

Being a parent myself, I love photographing young children (ages 2-5 especially) and appreciate their innocence! Seeing the spark in their eye when a funny word is said or hearing them giggle when a joke is told is priceless.

Sadie was really fun to photograph and it didn’t take long for her to warm up to me and even let me hold her purple bunny during the session:) I just adore her “4th birthday portraits” and can’t wait to share the entire collection with her family soon. Here is a sampling of my favorites! This child is just precious!

Enjoy!

Savannah & Adam’s Engagement PortraitsMay 3, 2014

If we had it to do all over again, instead of Curtis and I having our engagement portraits at the beach we would have chosen the mountains. Living in Florida at the time made that not very feasible and the biggest mountain around was probably a landfill! It was only a couple years after we got married that we moved to Upstate, SC and fell in love with the scenery and wide open spaces. Everything about Savannah and Adam’s Engagement Portraits would have been perfect for us! The dreamy back-light, wide open field with tall grass, abandoned barn and the waterfalls. Their session took place around Table Rock State Park.

We had an amazing time with Savannah and Adam! They are so laid back, easy going and have the most well behaved dog who actually sat still for photos – occasionally rolling over for a belly rub :) This great couple will tie the knot in October and we are so excited to be a part of their celebration.

It was hard to narrow down the selections for this post, but here are some of our top favorites! Enjoy!

Ariana turns ONE!April 25, 2014

This sweet little 11 month old (for not much longer) will soon celebrate her first birthday! At Ariana’s last portrait session she was on the verge of sitting up by herself and now she’s on the move. What a beautiful child! She was a joy to photograph and looked so “pretty in pink”.

Teen model – downtown GreerMarch 5, 2014

Throughout the past couple of years we have met so many wonderful, photogenic couples and individuals through charity silent auctions. This session was also thanks to a charity event, The Chocolate Soiree of 2013. Paige was a complete natural in front of the camera and we thoroughly enjoyed photographing her for the start of her modeling career.
